WHY AERATE YOUR LAWN ?
Compacted soil prevents grass from establishing a good root system, also prevents nutrients from reaching those roots. Through aeration, soil becomes less compacted and is exposed to the circulation of air. Air exchange improves once the soil is aerated, soil can then easily absorb water, fertilizer and other nutrients.
Other Benefits from Aeration
Improves Root System
Reduces Runoff and Puddling
Relieve Thatch Accumulation
Improving Cushioning & Resilience
Stronger Grass During Drought
WHEN SHOULD LAWNS BE AERATED?
Both Spring and Fall are great times to aerate cool season grass in Pennsylvania. In most cases, Spring Aeration is done (March and April). Fall Aeration and overseeding is done in Late Summer and Early Fall (September and October).
WHY OVERSEED YOUR LAWN?
Adding fresh seed to your lawn while Aeration is done improves grass density & enhances the lawns color. Today’s newer grass seed technologies have been developed to better withstand insects, disease, drought, and high traffic areas. Overseeding with the right grass seed can fill in new and old bare spots you have been battling for years.
